Amir R. Befroui

  • Senior Associate

Amir Befroui is a board certified Texas real estate attorney who represents property owners, businesses, and investors in complex real estate disputes and transactions. His practice focuses on real estate litigation, foreclosure and title disputes, contract and ownership conflicts, and transactional work designed to protect and preserve property rights.

Amir regularly handles high-stakes matters involving wrongful foreclosure, mortgage and property tax enforcement, HOA disputes, contract and fiduciary duty claims, fraud, declaratory judgment actions, trespass-to-try-title and suit-to-quiet-title cases, and disputes arising from residential and commercial real estate transactions. He has substantial courtroom experience, including serving as lead counsel in hearings, injunction proceedings, mediations, and civil trials.

In addition to litigation, Amir advises clients on transactional and preventative strategies to reduce risk and avoid future disputes. His work includes preparing and reviewing deeds, resolving lien and title issues, negotiating and enforcing real estate contracts, addressing seller-financed transactions, and counseling clients on possession, enforcement, and compliance issues. He frequently assists clients with clearing title defects and consolidating ownership interests, particularly in matters involving inherited or fractional ownership.

Amir also has experience advising property owners on select property tax and ownership matters, including defending tax collection suits, preventing tax foreclosures, advising on redemption rights, and assisting with title analysis and corrective instruments when ownership issues arise from family transfers or estate planning.

Known for a practical and client-focused approach, Amir emphasizes clear communication, strategic problem-solving, and cost-effective solutions. He works closely with clients to understand their goals, explain legal options in plain terms, and develop strategies that align legal outcomes with real-world needs.

In addition to being an Adjunct Professor at the South Texas College of Law Houston since 2025, Amir is board certified in Residential Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization—a distinction held by only a small percentage of Texas attorneys. This certification reflects his substantial, relevant experience and demonstrated expertise in this area of law.
